About This Project
Wapuufy is an independent, community-driven side project. It is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the WordPress® Foundation, Automattic, or any WordCamp® organizing team. The Wapuu character and its community-created variations are used in the spirit of the open-source WordPress® community.
Vibe Coded with AI
Wapuufy was built using AI-assisted development (vibe coding). Significant portions of the codebase — including the mobile app, WordPress® plugins, and this website — were written with the help of Claude by Anthropic. While care has been taken to review and test the code, AI-generated code may contain errors or unexpected behavior.
AI-Generated Images
The AI Mode feature transforms user selfies into Wapuu-style character portraits using third-party AI image generation services. These generated images are artistic interpretations and not meant to be accurate representations of any person. The quality, style, and output of AI-generated images may vary. Wapuufy does not guarantee that generated images will meet any specific standard or expectation.
Third-Party Services
Wapuufy uses third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Stability AI, Google Gemini, Replicate, fal.ai, and Black Forest Labs) to generate images. Your photos are sent to these services for processing. Each provider has its own terms of service and privacy policy. Wapuufy is not responsible for how these third-party services handle your data beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
No Warranty
Wapuufy is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The app and its services may be discontinued, modified, or experience downtime at any time. This is a passion project maintained in spare time — not a commercial product with SLAs or guaranteed uptime.
